Years after Kwabena Kwabena claimed his water was poisoned at Best Brain Studios when he went to feature in a recording, Buddy Roro who was managing the studio at the time has denied but says the highlife musician was rather struck by God.
In an interview with KMJ on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Thursday, Roro recounting how prevalent sorcery was back in the day said even though people engaged in such practices, it was not as glaring as today.
According to him, he was very prayerful and it was not surprising that the presence of the Holy Spirit was felt in his studio each time to the extent that it struck Kwabena Kwabena.
“My assistant producer was even recording his voice. I was at home when they called me that that artiste [Kwabena Kwabena] was acting abnormally. It was news all over that he said we poisoned him in my studio. Maybe he tried something and God struck him. He was acting mad,” he said.

Kwabena Kwabena in an interview with P&P in 2006 said he went to Best Brain Studio and met six people including Roro who was the resident manager. According to him, he left the studio to pick something up leaving the bottle of water he was drinking there. He continued that when he returned, he sipped water from that bottle and suddenly, he felt a search in his throat and tummy. Though he screamed for help, nobody came to his rescue. According to Kwabena Kwabena, it was a friend he had gone to the studio with who walked in and rushed him to the hospital
But Roro insists the Holy Spirit was at work at the time.
“Something backfired. He run and came back with some leafs in his mouth and all. I saw the leaf in his mouth but he left right away. I wouldn’t say it was juju but we suspected something like that. We didn’t even give him water or food [so why say you were poisoned?] he noted.
Touching on the effect of the development, Roro said, “It affected me big time” because people were warned to be wary of him.
Meanwhile, Nana Poku (Ashes) who was once a member of Kwabena Kwabena’s management team defended him on the basis that the ‘Asor’ hitmaker is a staunch Christian.
