Radio presenter cum rapper, Trigmatic says he cannot state emphatically that he has enjoyed maximum support from his colleagues in the media with respect to giving his songs rotation on their respective shows.
The issue of how radio presenters help their colleagues who are into music has become of great concern after Andy Dosty, a musician cum disc jockey (DJ) accused his colleagues of stifling his music career by not playing his songs on radio.
The situation appears to be gaining roots as the remarks of bearded Trigmatic seem to suggest that colleagues do not give him the needed assistance.
“I can’t say I have had a hundred percent support. However, some have been very good. I can mention Andy Dosty, Jerry Justice, presenters of YFM because maybe they work with me. The thing is, there is a general perception towards music. We have a particular ear for music. So it’s like if you are not going with the trend, naturally, you suffer airplay. I won’t blame my colleagues,” he said.
“You get to a point where you ask why they aren’t playing your songs. Sometimes your management will call them to play and I always tell them, I don’t like calling anybody to play my song. I want to be fulfilled that the song is being played because they love it,” he added.
