Young artiste, Fancy Gadam made a resounding statement as he had a successful show at the National Theatre, Accra, on Sunday.
Before the event, some people were skeptical about whether or not he could fill the venue to capacity like he did at the Tamale Sports Stadium months ago, considering the fact that his popularity in the city was not as high as the north.
The musician however filled the auditorium and treated patrons with an electrifying performance. His stage craft and energy was simply amazing.
www.abrantepa.com can say that performances of some artistes billed to perform were simply amazing as they commanded and moved the crowd. They included Rashid Metal, Ataaka, Nandos, Iwan, D Cryme, Hip-hop Alhaji, Iwan, Jamal and Saani.
The crowd and security
There was a heavy security presence. Yes, organisers did not want to leave anything to chance especially after reports that nine persons passed on during Fancy Dadam’s Salah festival in the Asawase Community Center, Kumasi after a stampede.
Like any other event which records high numbers, the crowd proved stubborn at the gate as some refused to form a queue instead, wanted to force their way through. Personnel in military uniform had to come in before the situation was brought under control.
The show indeed lived up to its hype. The crowd was incredibly massive but that seemed to be a challenge. Even the walkway had people [standing] some of whom went closer to the edge of the stage during Fancy Gadam’s performance.
The more the security tried restricting them, the more they got closer. The situation was brought under control after the emcee signaled Fancy Gadam to hold on with his performance till patrons moved back.
Due to the numbers and the air condition which seemed dysfunctional, there was a terrible heat, nonetheless, patrons confessed to have enjoyed themselves.
Aside from these, the show was a great success.
