The President of the Ghana Film Crew Association(GHAFCA), Mr Samuel Gyandoh, has linked the low standard of some movies recently to some nonprofessionals who have invaded into the system.
According to him some people who know little about the film making have found themselves in the industry and are not living up to expectation hence, the low standard of movies recently.
“I have been in the system for the past sixteen years and some of us have learnt a lot about the job and when you watch our pieces you can see the difference. There are unprofessional persons among us who are spoiling the work. Such people might have followed us just for about few weeks and will think they’re competent enough to make a movie, just because there is no job in the system. We learned a lot before finding ourselves here.”
He, however, said they crew members believe that some movies recently are of low quality and are therefore putting in place good policies just to win back their good image. He cited their recent awards as one of the policies just to ginger them to work hard.
The Ghana Film Crew Association (GHAFCA) consists the brains behind the movies ranging from directors, camera men, light men, sound men, makeup artistes just to mention a few.
