The much-anticipated musical concert to launch Ghanaian musician Guru’s second studio album “Gold” will no longer hold on November 26 2016 as earlier announced.
The new development is as a result of the passing of Afia Kobi Serwa Ampem II, the Asantehemaa and mother of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
A press release signed by the chief of staff at the Manhyia Palace indicated a ban had been placed on all funerals, drumming and noise making throughout Asanteman until after the funeral of the Asantehemaa in accordance to the Asante customs.
It is immediately unknown when the funeral will be held.
Speaking about the unfortunate occurrence, executive manager for Guru, Ray Moni in an interview with wwww.nydjlive.com revealed although plans were far advanced for the concert, the team would have no option than to wait util after the funeral just as the Asante custom demands.
Due to this development, the album will be launched at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani on December 3 2016.
