Veteran gospel musician Osei Boateng has sued fellow gospel artiste Cecilia Marfo over copyright infringement.
The musician known for many choral songs in an interview with Franky5 on Hitz FM’s This Is Gospel (TIG) show accused the ‘Afunu Ma’ hitmaker of using his song, “Yesu Ka Wo Ho” on one of her albums without his permission.
According to him, an unknown person contacted him about his artiste using his song on her album but he didn’t hear from him again.
“I didn’t know anything about her using my song but I’ve heard that there is someone called Cecilia Marfo who has used the song. I was talking to one guy about something and he brought it up that his artiste has released an album and she used one of my songs but I’ve not heard from the person again.
I don’t know who Cecilia Marfo is and I’ve also not heard from the gentlemen again” Osei Boateng narrated to Frank5.
He continued that a judge contacted to inform him about the lawsuit he has filed against Cecilia Marfo over the case but he has not reached the gospel musician to serve her with the writ because he doesn’t know her whereabouts.
“I’ve taken Cecelia Marfo’s case to court I’m not even the one who took it the law court its one judge who called to inform me that he’s given me a lawyer.
He’s given me the writ to serve her but I don’t know her so I don’t know where to locate her.”
The musician quickly added that he is ready to settle the issue out of court if “she comes to settle the issue with me amicably”.
Zionfelix.net after investigation found out that Cecilia Marfo used Osei Boateng’s “Yesu Ka Wo Ho” on her “Time Of Worship” album released in 2011.
