Oscar nominated Ghanaian actress, Nana Akua Addo has revealed that she would be auctioning the gorgeous gown she wore to the Glitz Style Awards in Accra, Ghana for charity.
The glittering crystal-laced gown from Philippine-based ALMODAL, which is run and managed by the Creative Director and Fashion Designer Leo Almodal, is valued at $70,000 but the actress hopes to be able to sell it for $100,000.
Add told Erre Magazine fashion editor, Stella Mistakes that she hopes to use the money to support deprived communities in her home village.
“There are a lot of poor people in my country whose lives can be improved a lot with $70,000. So there is no need for me to keep such an expensive gown in my closet. After all I cannot repeat my dress anyway. I am the new slay queen of Ghana’s red carpet and I intend to keep my status.”
The actress always revealed that she has contacted Kerry Taylor Auctions to help her with selling off her gem.
“Hopefully I can change the lives of some poor kids in my village,” she added.
