Figures Showbiz Personalities Who Contested For Parliamentary Seats Had

This year’s elections saw a host of showbiz personalities taking a bold step in their life by vying for the position of Parliamentary candidates to represent their people in Parliament.

Some of these personalities did their best in garning votes but could not win a single seat to themselves.

We compiled a list of showbiz personalities who took part in the elections and the votes they had.

1. Ebi Bright

She contested on the ticket of the outgoing National Democratic Congress in the Tema Central Constituency and was heavily tipped to win the seat for the NDC. However, she missed out on winning after she polled 12,937 representing 31.19% of the total valid votes cast as against the NPP’s Kofi Brako who polled 28,334 representing 68.31%.

2. Kwame Dzokoto

He was tipped to win the Tarkwa Nsuem constituency seat because of his popularity but that did not play to his advantage. Dzkoto polled 24044 representing 35.12% of the votes whiles his keenest contestant in the constituency, George Mireku Duker of the NPP polled 42,594 representing 62.21%.

3. Salinko

The Kumawood star represented the Progressive Peoples Party in the Atwima Kwawomang Constituency in the Ashanti region. He polled just 858 representing 1.37% of the total votes cast.

4. Diamond Appiah

The recording artiste took part in the election to be given the nod to represent the people of the Trobu constituency. Well, she missed the oppotunity after she had only 433 votes. Well, to her, the lose is not miserable because she came third by beating candidates of the CPP and PPP.
