Actress-turned politician, Ebi Bright, has called on her Tema West constituents to abstain from electoral violence as the December 7 polls gets closer. Ebi, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Tema Central Constituency, noted that there was the need for the youth to maintain the peace the country enjoys at the moment.
There have been calls on Ghanaians especially the youth from various organisations and personalities on the need to help maintain peace before, during and after the elections on December 7.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Ebi said “It is important to preach peace at this period and it is essential for everyone to maintain this during the elections”.
“I want to urge the youth of Tema Central and beyond to abstain from electoral malpractices as it holds the key to the peace we currently enjoy in our country,” She he added.
Talking about her decision to venture into politics, Ebi explained that she felt it was time to serve her community in parliament in order for the constituency to have a youthful leader who would advance the cause of the youth.
She noted that Tema Central has a vocal leader in her and believes the electorates will vote overwhelmingly for her instead of the incumbent Hon. Kofi Brako, who she claims doesn’t represent the views of the constituents.
