E. L is the first Ghanaian contemporary artiste to join a tour by an American act
Ghanaian rapper and BBnZ foremost artiste, E. L, born Elom Adablah, is currently on tour in the United States of America alongside American singer and rapper, Lauryn Noelle Hill.
He becomes the first Ghanaian contemporary artiste to join a tour by an American act.
The tour which is a concert series will bring aspects of the inaugural ‘Diaspora Calling! Festival To The Road’. Each show will feature performances by artistes from different parts of the African Diaspora.
Artistes confirmed to perform at shows throughout the tour include Nas (Queens) at a newly added date in San Francisco, as well as a sold out show in Berkeley, Machel Montano (Trinidad) in Philadelphia, Kehlani (Oakland) in New York City, San Francisco, and Berkeley.
The rest include Soul Rebels (New Orleans) with special guest TalibKweli (Brooklyn), SeunKuti& Egypt 80 (Nigeria), E.L (Ghana), Little Simz (London), Jesse Royal (Jamaica), Noname (Chicago), JoJoAbot (Ghana) and Paul Beaubrun (Haiti).
Of the concert series, Ms Hill say, “The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African Diaspora while on tour this summer and fall. In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self-love and appreciation that hopefully overflow into our respective communities.”
The 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of The Year reportedly performed Friday night at Warner Theatre in Washington and gave an electrifying act of hit tracks which include ‘Hallelujah’, Minaabopo’, ‘Koko’, ‘American Passport’, ‘Shelele’ and a few unreleased songs.
E.L is surely representing Ghana and Africa as a whole on the international stage.
