Singer and actress Diamond Appiah has filed her nomination form at the Electoral Commission (EC) to stand as Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency during the December 7 election.
She submitted her forms on Friday, September 30 after she had gone through the laid down procedure.
Miss Appiah made her intention to go to parliament known earlier this year during an interview with Zionfelix.net. After announcing her wish to stand as MP for Trobu Constituency come December 7 on the ticket of Odike’s United Progressive Party (UPP), a lot of Ghanaians spoke against her decision but she gave deaf ears to them.
Diamond Appiah popularly known for her hit single “Taste My Apple” after filling her nomination forms pleaded with her constituency to vote her into power to help develop the area.
Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church in February this year prophesied that Diamond will go to parliament after this year’s general election.
The outspoken entertainer joins celebs such as actress Ebi Bright, Kwame Dzokoto, Salinko, Eric Don Arthur among others in the race to Parliament House.
