Dr. Duncan pointed out that for peace to prevail there must be love, truth and understanding
Centre of Awareness (COA), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), operating from Owusorkrom in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese(AAK) District of the Central Region, has held a peace festival to promote and
solidify the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the country.
The annual festival dubbed “Global peace mission festival,” was to help sensitise people to maintain and uphold good practices that give them satisfaction in their conditions and circumstances.
Addressing people at a durbar to climax the festival over the weekend, Executive President of COA, Dr. Samuel Ato Duncan, explained that the institution of the festival does not mean there is or will be war in the country but to draw the attention of the citizenry to positive practices that will bring fulfillment to the nation.
According to him, the festival which he described as an assignment given to him directly by God is to help mankind live a life of fulfillment since man is the most important creation of God.
Dr. Duncan pointed out that for peace to prevail there must be love, truth and understanding amongst mankind.
He disclosed that COA is going to work closely but independently with leadership of the world on human-centered initiatives to achieve the feat.
He added that in view of that peace clubs will be formed to move from country to country to ensure that the mission is carried on.
A board member of COA, Dr. Magnus Ebo Duncan, reiterated that there was no need for war before talking about peace.
He argued that activities of galamsey operators as well as other negative behaviours such as disposing refuse indiscriminately breed war health-wisely.
Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, Daasebre Kwebu Ewusie, commended COA for their contributions to the health sector and charged chiefs to assist government in winning the fight against galamsey.
