Award-winning performing artist, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong known widely as Becca has was on YFM‘s Dryve of Ur Lyfe with J. O.E.L and shared her top five acts with listeners.
“The first artist that will come to mind is M.anifest.” He is just a unique artist. You can tell his style is indigenous. He is presenting Africa to the world. He sounds African but modern and you can relate to it.
“Number two will be Bisa KDei. He revived Highlife. He has makes great and sends the music around the world. I go to London and I hear his music and the whites also vibe to it.
“The third will be Efya. She is a force to reckon with. She is in her own league. She stands out and not deterred. Her vocal ability is great.
“Kofi Kinaata is also so unique. I like authentic Ghanaian music and that’s why I gravitate towards these artists.
“The last one will be Wiyaala. She brought back Angelique Kidjoe. When I watch her on TV, I feel Angelique Kidjoe has been revived but this time coming from the Northern part of Ghana.
“Right now these are the ones selling Ghana to the world.”
Singer Becca announced some few months back on Y FM that her 7-track EP will drop next year. The EP, “Odo Nsor” is scheduled to coincide with her 10th anniversary in the Ghana music industry.
