In November last year, hiplife artiste Akoo Nana, born William Ankrah, grabbed headlines as after pictures emerged of him in church giving his life to Christ.
As if that was not enough, pictures of him preaching in buses fuelled speculations that the musician had turned a new leaf and was now going to preach the word of God.
But nine months after that episode, the controversial musician is back with a hiplife tune titled Amponsah.
Akoo Nana is quoted to have described hiplife, which he did before preaching the word of God as a ‘cheap life’ stating that doing highlife means he has come of age.
He is reported to have said, ‘the switch to high-life is all because I am grown now and I need to do matured songs and perform with my band. Switching from cheap life to highlife is a great experience and I am really enjoying and learning a lot from artistes who have excelled as highlife musician.’
