A Coalition to Elect Nana Addo, and Bawumia, is abbreviated as CENAB and CENAB UK is an affiliate of a worldwide CENAB Advocacy group, which is a broad coalition of patriots, friends, sympathisers, political admirers and people who believe that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia’s leadership will be the best to project Ghana into prosperity through development, embedded in freedom.
Membership collectively is generally referred to as Cenabians. We are a voluntary gathering, with arms across the world. We have a common aim and purpose of campaigning for Nana Addo, and Dr. Bawumia, and we are on course to fulfil our core objestewardshipince Cenabians worldwide are pro-Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia campaigners, we have had a common resolve to work voluntarily to ensure victory for a positive change, from an incompetent and thieving John Mahamah /NDC administration, to a better and more competent and well managed Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia stewarship.
The group first started as “Nana Akufo-Addo For 2016,” Voluntary Campaigners which launched the Presidential Primaries bid in London on Sunday, June 15, 2014 for Nana Akufo-Addo to become the 2016 NPP Flag bearer.
According to an invite issued for the event by ‘Akufo-Addo for 2016’ UK campaign coordinators, the launch took place at the Chestnuts Community & Arts Centre in Tottenham, North London. The Special Guest Speakers were; Hon. Ayorkor Botchwey MP, Lawyer Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Hon. Ursula G. Owusu-Ekuful (Mrs.) MP for Ablekuma West constituency, and Hon. Samuel Atta-Akyea, MP for Abuakwa South. The special guest of honour expected to be Nana Akufo-Addo himself to grace the occasion.
The group’s aim for supporting Nana Akufo-Addo from day one to be the Flagbearer and become the President of Ghana was that, we believe Ghana deserves a leader who thinks of the next generation, not just about winning the next elections.
“It is incontestably clear that the majority of Ghanaians have seen that the adventurous change of NPP government in 2008 has been a bitter failure and very disappointing. Today, the level of despondency amongst the majority of Ghanaians everywhere is immeasurable”.
CENAB UK believes “Ghanaians cannot afford to deny our next generation of the best architect of their dream by denying Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the leadership of Ghana. It’s time to go for the man of vision, the vision of good hope that is coming with promises of excellence. The vision of Nana Akufo-Addo and his promises are full of plenary inspiration that will make no room for failure.”
The Seven Member Founders of the “Akufo-Addo for 2016” launched in June 2014 that saw Nana Akufo-Addo elected as the Flag bearer, were Mr Eric Twum Agyemang, Mr. Atta-Krufi, Ms Susan Akomeah, Peter Antwi Boasiako, Lawyer Adreba Abrefa Damoa, Mr Kofi Busia and Mr Afum Dankwa. The group then metamorphosed to Coalition To Elect Nana Addo and Bawumia (CENAB) when Nana Addo selected Dr. Bawumia to his Running Mate for the 2016 elections. The Chairman and Vice Chairman of CENAB UK Advocacy Group today are Mr. Amponsa Yeboah (Kakabo) and Mr. Frank Adusei.
Helping Ghanaians to make a good choice on the need for change, and seeking for solutions, the group has embarked on various public events in London and its environs, including an International Economic Forum on Ghana, which was held at the Northumberland Park Community College, in March 2015, on the theme: “The Need For Economic Transformation To Ensure Viability and Sustainability To Benefit The Present, and The Future Generations.”
The invited Guest Speakers includes: Ms. Manji Cheto – Vice President of TENEO Intelligence (UK Economist, Risk Analyst on West African Countries) and Hon. Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei – MP, (Research Fellow of the Centre for Policy Analysis; Expert On Economic Management and Budgeting) and other experts.
In September 2015, CENAB UK Advocacy Group hosted its first CENAB International Energy Conference on Ghana’s deteriorating energy situation at the College of North East London (CONEL). The Speakers were, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam – Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) and Dr. Sid Kargupta – CEO of SKG World Energy, UK, to talk on the theme “GHANA IN SEARCH OF ENERGY SOLUTIONS – The view of the diaspora”.
Notwithstanding these, CENAB UK has adopted to support two constituencies to win for NPP, thus, Sene West and Agona West constituencies where the NPP lost marginally.
Supporting logistically, the group embarked on buying and collecting various items from members and the public and have since sent over 60 boxes of logistics to support the NPP Campaign in Ghana.
The group believes that, it is always in times of need that voluntary organisations, voluntary groups, and voluntarism, play an enormously important role in the achievement and success of all human societies, and more so, political parties. Ghana is at serious cross road that needs everyone’s effort to help bring a deserving change in Ghana this year for the future of our children.
To this end, CENAB UK, USA, Canada, Germany and Ghana, have worked harder than it can be imagined and will continue till we see Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia sworn in as President and Vice in the Republic of Ghana. From contributing material resources, to educating voters, and by providing the relevant human efforts, which is extremely necessary in all our activities to ensure the change this year.
CENAB, We Say, Hope, Coming With Excellence Is Our Banner!
