In its quest to attract investment to Ghana to facilitate employment generation , the Managing Director of Elenmines company limited Dr Mawuli Lincoln Eleblue Darlington has urged investors in Europe to take a look at the enormous opportunities in Ghana and channel their wealth in these areas to realize the maximum benefits.
Addressing investors at the NERSANT Business Summit held in Portugal between 22nd and 28th October, 2016, Dr Mawuli Darlington revealed that there are so many opportunities in Ghana’s mining, health and construction and oil and gas sectors that need huge investments to turn them around to realize the anticipated fortunes. He thus assured the investors that his company, Elenmines would assist companies that would take advantage of these opportunities to operate in Ghana.
He regarded the NERSANT business summit as the best platform for promoting Ghana since the participants and members of the group had the resources needed to engage in partnerships that would help realize the potentials in investments.
Speaking to the media on his return from the summit, Dr Eleblue Darlington noted that this company engaged with more than 21 companies at the summit and is currently interacting with about 15 multinational firms who have expressed interest in establishing subsidiaries in Ghana.
“We have concluded that the entire business programmes will start after the elections. As partners, these companies are bringing the money and we will do the facilitation. We will provide the land and all the internal resource that will enable them establish their assembly plants. We will be establishing plants that will produce spare parts of heavy duty equipment’s for the mining sector, mosquito related coils for the health sector among others”, he stated
The NERSANT Business is already considered one of the biggest international business meetings in Portugal. In the first edition, in 2012, the event was attended by six delegations, each year the event has consolidated and continued to grow. Other Ghanaian companies that participated include GP Business Associates, Plant pool Africa Afforestation association e. V, Shining Global Enterprise Manglobe Company Limited.
This year’s edition had the presence of 26 countries from all over the world. In addition to the 90 national companies registered, there were also 70 foreign entrepreneurs registered from South Africa, Germany, Angola, Austria, Brazil, Cape Verde, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, France, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Netherlands, Hungary, India, Iran, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Ukraine and Vietnam.
The NERSANT Business aims to strengthen trade relations between the participating countries and establish business partnerships for the future, in order to promote internationalization of companies.
