The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Germany, Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde has attributed the current economic crisis facing Ghana and the attendant hardships inflicted on the citizens to incompetence, corruption and the failed leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at a forum organised by the local chapter of the Party in Aachen over the week-end, the outspoken national organiser explained that the NDC government inherited a buoyant and stable economy from the NPP in 2009 amidst low interest rates, a stable currency and an annual GDP growth of 7.2 per cent.
He noted that instead of the NDC government building on the gains and strides made during the NPP era, the reverse has happened under the NDC as a result of which Ghana is now compelled to go to the IMF for a bailout adding “the only explanation for our current predicament is poor leadership and massive corruption in government”
Mr Anane-Gyinde revealed that apart from borrowing more than all governments since independence in 1957, the NDC government has for the past seven years received Gh248 billion as tax revenue, compared to the Gh 20 billion the NPP got in eight years and said as a result of good leadership the NPP was able to make prudent and intelligent use of the tax money for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
He insisted that the One District, One Factory and One Village, One Dam policies of the NPP are all achievable because an Akuffo- Addo led government would manage and invest the country’s resources in projects that impact directly on the lives of the people and not divert it to purchase houses in Dubai and Maryland in the USA as is the case under President Mahama and the NDC.
The National Organiser argued that if Ghana can afford to pay Gh 51 Million fraudulent judgement debt to Mr Agbesi Wayomi, an NDC financier, spend Gh 3 million on bus branding and print presidential dairies at the cost of $10 million, then it should be possible for this country to provide dams and factories across all districts.
He said the December 7 elections afford Ghanaians a clear choice between despair, hopelessness, dishonesty, open thievery presided over by John Mahama on one hand and hope, integrity and visionary leadership that Nana Akuffo-Addo represents
He made a passionate appeal to Ghanaians to vote for the NPP and Nana Akuffo Addo so as to save the country from its present predicament of high youth employment, rising cost of living, galloping inflation and high utility tariffs.
