The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has officially confirmed the resignation of its governor Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku in a communication to the media.
Starrfmonline.com broke the news Wednesday evening about his departure, citing personal and political reasons.
In a short statement, the Central Bank said “We wish him the best of success in future endeavours.”
Dr. Issahaku is likely to be succeeded by a senior economist at the Africa Development Bank Dr. Ernest Addison.

RESIGNATION OF DR. ABDUL NASHIRU ISSAHAKU, GOVERNOR OF BANK OF GHANA
The Bank of Ghana announces the resignation of Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku, Governor effective 1st April, 2017.
Dr. Issahaku contributed immensely to the success of the Bank of Ghana during his term of office, first as Deputy Governor from July 2013 to March, 2016 and as Governor from April, 2016 to April, 2017.
