UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has renewed commitment to strengthening and enhancing bilateral ties between the United Kingdom and Ghana to facilitate growth and development in the Ghana and for mutual benefits.
The former Mayor of London made this pledge when he paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo Wednesday, February 15.
The UK has formed business ties with Ghana over the years and both countries also share mutual friendship ties. Mr. Johnson stated that he is optimistic of an even deeper and more strengthened friendship relationship where British firms would be able to invest in Ghanaian businesses as well as take advantage of the wonderful opportunities in the country to improve theirs.
He expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to congratulate President Akufo-Addo personally on his victory and election as President.
“It’s a huge pleasure to be able to congratulate you personally on your triumph, Mr. President……, We hope to have an even deeper friendship going forward, a situation where British firms come here in greater numbers, and greater strength to be able to invest in Ghana and to take advantage of the fantastic opportunities there are in this wonderful country”, he said.
He reiterated the UK’s interest in ensuring the stability of Ghana and the entire African sub-region.
