The minister of Finance, Mr Seth Terkper, is scheduled to present the Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation and the Estimates of the Revenues and Expenditure of the government for the 2017 financial year to Parliament next Thursday.
The presentation is necessary because there may be no budget presentation in November characteristic of an election year.
The Deputy Majority Leader, Mr Alfred Agbesi, announced this in Parliament yesterday.
He was presenting the explanatory memorandum on the business statement for the second week ending Friday, October 21, 2016.
The minister is expected to give details of the projected revenue and expenditure between January and March, 2017.
The presentation is to guard against any spending challenges in the event of a change in government.
In July, 2016, the minister presented a revised budget statement to the House seeking an approval for an additional GH¢1.8 billion for the remainder of 2016, which was subsequently approved by Parliament.
