Tema port tol be fully automated within the next three years
The port of Tema will be fully automated within the next three years, officials have disclosed.
The port is currently registering vehicles that do business there to capture their data for the automation.
Unregistered vehicles will not be allowed to access the ports when the automation is completed, the Director of the Tema Port Jacob Adorkor told Starr Business. He said the move will enhance clearance at the ports and increase revenue.
“Currently, we are registering port users biometrically and we will have a barrier at the entrance, trucks, vehicles are all being registered. Trucks and drivers will be identified at the barrier before they enter and if they are not supposed to enter it will be diverted to another route,” Mr. Adorkor served notice.
