Professionals from across the global oil and gas industry have revealed who their employers of choice are – and the attributes they look for from them – in the inaugural Ideal Employer survey 2016.
The survey, carried out between July and September 2016, gives a real insight into the workforce’s current thoughts and feelings towards companies during one of the toughest periods for the industry brought about by the global downturn in the barrel price of oil.
Shell, Chevron, ExxonMobil, BP and Halliburton make up the top five oil and gas employers of choice globally – apart from in the UK and Africa.
Africa bucked the global trend alongside the UK by not ranking Shell as number one. In Africa, respondents ranked Chevron number one, ExxonMobil number two and Shell third.
Please see the release below for more details on regional breakdowns of the research which includes global comparisons. There is also a supporting infographic attached for you to utilise should you wish, and a PowerPoint is available on request.
In alphabetical order, African countries included: Algeria, Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Libya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Tunisia.
