The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) is worried the current political atmosphere is adversely affecting Ghana’s marketability on the international stage.
As Ghana gears up for a national election in December, there have been concerns about some businesses and investors reportedly holding on to their investments due to uncertainty.
This, coupled with the currently harsh economic conditions according to the CIMG is unduly taking a negative toll on the economy.
President of CIMG, Kojo Mattah explains that this is because there is a lot of negativity about Ghana being spewed out.
“We can help ourselves by looking at the positive side of things; the economic environment and things that are happening, industry is always struggling and especially the power cut (dumsor) is making things difficult.”
He said there are so many uncertainty and unpredictability adding the cedi’s instability is also not helping issues.
According to him, things will be better if businesses can work and be able to predict what will happen in the next couple of weeks.
“In advanced countries, you can predict far into the future at least you know that some parameters will be stable but in Ghana it is difficult, but let’s try and reduce the uncertainty that we have in the system.
