Parliament’s select committee on communications on Monday toured two facilities of Subah Infosolutions, a leading Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications solution provider in the country.
The visit by the committee members was to enable them acquaint and understand the working procedures of the IT Company.
The facilities the Members of Parliament (MPs) visited, included the Project Command Centre, the Assembly Plant and the Call Centre, all on the Spintex Road and the Data Centre at Roman Ridge, Accra.
Subah Infosolutions, which specializes in revenue collection, ICT, data management among other services took the law makers through its Digital Mapping and Property Addressing System which seeks to collect, process and store accurate and reliable data for national development.
Using the above system, Subah is collaborating with the National Service Scheme in rolling out the Scheme’s Urban Sanitation Model which will be used in distributing waste bins and monitoring waste management across the country.
Addressing journalists, the Vice Chairman for the Parliaments Select Committee on Communications Frederick Opare-Ansah said the visit was to understand the opportunities and challenges the company faces and see how best parliament can help equip the Telecom sector.
“The committee has decided to embark on number of projects this is just one of the many we will be visiting this year we don’t want anything to come up before we start looking at what happening”
“We decided to come and look at what Subah Infosolutions are doing just so that when we seat at the committee and we are having discussions we can also account what is going on”
He continued that, the committee will back Subah Infosolutions and other telecommunications companies with the necessary legislations in addressing some problems battling the communication sector.
“We are quit impress with what we have seen at Subah we will also do our best to help the Telecom sector to grow to the first class standard.
