Okada Business Booms In Adeiso

Despite efforts by the police in the Upper West Akyem District, Adeiso to clamp down on Okada Business, it is obvious that the use of motorbike for commercial purposes have become a booming venture which is gradually becoming a serious threat to security, Chief Inspector Baah has lamented.

Speaking to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he decried the number of personnel in the district as inadequate.

According to him, their number has made it extremely difficult for them to clamp down on the illegal activities of commercial motor riders.

He also revealed that, Togolese expats in Ghana have taken over the Okada Business with a new person joining the already increasing number on daily basis.

Inspector Baah said the Police Administration will soon deploy some men to the district to add to the number so they can work effectively.

Criminal activities including rape is increasing within the district with motor riders sexually abusing their passengers on daily basis.

Responding to it, Inspector Baah said, the police will do their best to curb the situation before it goes out of hand.
