As part of measures in training and equipping constituents towards employable skills, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast North constituency, Mrs. Barbara Asher Ayisi has initiated a project dubbed “Cape Coast North Entrepreneurial Training Centre (CCNET)”
The facility which is located at the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) is meant to train youth in the area in employable skills as measure of fighting soaring unemployment in the constituency.
Some residents in the Cape Coast Metropolis have commended the Deputy Minister for her Special Initiative which will be jointly operated her and the Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU).
According to the residents, CCNET programme is a good intervention and the MP must be commended for this initiative.
“We are taking full advantage of this free programme to learn a trade”, a prospective trainee stated.
CCNET was launched a fortnight ago to provide hands-on training in the area of Technical and Vocational Education to the youth of Cape Coast especially the vulnerable. Consequently, over 340 youth have since been registered for the training.
The first batches of trainees are expected to start the training in the next few days.
