Minister of Finance, Hon. Seth Terkper says Ghana will grow at a faster rate if President John Mahama is given a second term in office.
According to him, the foundation has been built to accelerate the country’s development thus any change of power will be detrimental to our growth.
The Finance Minister made these remarks when he addressed thousands of NDC supporters at the Greater Accra Regional rally held at the Accra Sports Stadium, Monday.
He stressed that a vote for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will spell doom for Ghana because they have no message for Ghanaians ahead of Wednesday’s polls.
Mr. Terkper cited how the opposition party made a lot of political capital out of the power crisis known in local parlance as dumsor to corroborate his claim.
This notwithstanding, the Finance Minister said the NPP has no message since government has been able to resolve the power crisis.
“Have we not solved the Dumsor crisis? This is the first time since 2012 that we are having elections that Dumsor hasn’t been mentioned anywhere…,” he said.
Seth Terkper also chastised the NPP of criticizing the Mahama-led government for borrowing when in fact they know its being used for infrastructural projects across the country.
“John Mahama is borrowing funds abroad to undertake infrastructural developments in the country but not receiving the funds in vain. I want to assure you that John Mahama’s government has a record that all of us can be proud of today. Ghana will begin to grow at a faster rate” he noted.
Seth Terkper believes a vote for President Mahama is a guarantee for economic growth for a secured future
