The Communications Manager of Ghana Gas Company Limited Alfred Ogbamey has assured that the ten-day closure of Ghana Gas at Atuabo will not have any adverse effect on power generation in the country.
According to him, measures have been put in place to ensure that Ghanaians do not experience ‘Dumsor’.
Ghana Gas Company yesterday announced that it will today shut down for routine maintenance.
Speaking to Kasapa News’ Akwasi Nsiah, Mr. Ogbamey said they gave prior notice to the Volta River Authority (VRA) ahead of the closure, ruling out power outages as they embark on the routine maintenance of their machines.
“The mandatory outage is required by the original equipment manufacturers for maintenance of critical components in the gas processing plant on periodic basis. It is also to facilitate warranty assurance on the installed equipment and the validity of our operating insurance cover”, the company said in a statement.
