Indigenous bank, Capital Bank, in a bid to offer more convenient customer-focused solutions, has opened its second branch in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
With the first branch at Pampaso, the second at Harper Road, brings to 20, the number of branches of the bank in the country.
The new branch presents a world class ambience with a strong African identity that celebrates African heroes, such as Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, former Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, among others.
At the unveiling of the office, the Managing Director of the bank, Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor, highlighted the bank’s determination to assist small and medium scale enterprises in the country to grow to contribute effectively towards the growth of the economy.
Rev. Odonkor noted that the SMEs are potential contributors to the growth of the economy who needed to be assisted in every situation.
He, therefore, mentioned the introduction of an innovative solution for SMEs — SpeedPay — that would make it possible for customers to “deposit cash into their accounts anytime and anywhere through the use of their mobile handsets and SpeedPay money vouchers without visiting the banking hall.”
The Managing Director said the bank, plans to engage 50 SMEs through seminars and workshops, on how to attract investments to boost their lots.
“We have embarked on a journey toward revitalising our vision to become the bank of excellence for SMEs and entire African markets and the strategic goal of becoming a tier one bank by the end of 2020,” Rev. Odonkor stated.
Urging all and sundry to do business with the bank, Rev. Odonkor said “we have not only focused on creating a world class brand identity, we have invested in our systems, processes, structures to make it more fluid at enhancing the customer’s experience”.
According to Rev. Odonkor, “these are exciting times for Capital Bank and we call on you to partner us in the journey towards creating a local bank of excellence for African markets”.
Head of Retail Banking of the bank, Eunice Brocke, said the branch is one of four branches equipped with “priority banking centres” offering customised and premium solutions to serve the diverse needs of clients who demand banking services.
She mentioned a new package for students — Capital Students — which comes with various incentives like free ATM cards, free e-zwich cards, free electronic banking orders and free e-statements with no monthly charges.
For those in full time employment, she said the bank had developed a capital salary account which comes with salary advance to help meet pressing personal needs.
