Busy 4G in a quest to empower the Ghanaian youth and entrepreneurs has opened a multi-functional flagship store that will serve as a hub for young people and up-and-coming entrepreneurs, where they can connect to the world, develop business plans, network, and kick-start their dreams.
Chief Executive Officer of Busy, Praveen Sadalage said the JUMP platform which was launched last month in March, was a strategic shift to signify Busy’s intentions to operate in a space where most of Ghana’s population is by offering them incredible access to materials that will ensure their professional and individual growth.
He further stated that their aim is to develop the youth especially those in the universities into strong entrepreneurs and good business managers in the future by rolling out its programme, providing the right platform through the use of internet connectivity for their development.
“What we are targeting is those in the universities, and in the process of passing out in the next two to five years. And the programme we have developed is basically to engage them at the university level, we talk to the universities deans, have a full programme for them to participate into our programme,. …… In the process we bring out their leadership qualities in them, we bring out their entrepreneurial spirit in them and we basically try to build them into good business men and good future citizens of this country”, he said.
Chief Marketing Officer of Busy, Michael Fitzpatrick disclosed at the launch in Accra that Busy will also be launching a new mobile interactive app known as Chat+. According to him, the app which will be free for all Busy customers will allow them chat, call, share pictures and videos with friends and loved ones. Also in line with this, Busy in order to get closer to its customers has opened a new multi-functional flagship store which will have a collaborative work space at the back for young entrepreneurs, bloggers, students and business men to experience their 4G WI-FI.
The Deputy Communications Minister, George Nenyi Andah who relaunched the revamped Busy brand and opened the flagship store urged Busy to lead the way by delivering affordable and reliable data for the youth segment in particular.
Mr. Andah said “Government is in the process of ensuring that some of the factors that tend to slow down growth or businesses like data are permanently solved so there is a phenomenal growth in that sector which will result in opening up employment avenues for the talented Ghanaian youth who have had artificial barriers forestalling their growth”, he said.
