He described the discussions held as laudable and in line with his vision for the country.”

“During discussions with the President, the MD of BANK OF AFRICA, Mr Kobby Andah, recalled the three MoUs recently signed between the bank and the Electricity Company of Ghana, Association of Ghana Industries and the Ghana Chamber of Commerce during the working visit by Mr Othman Benjelloun, Chairman and CEO of BMCE Bank of Africa alongside the visit of the Moroccan King to Ghana. The MD, reiterated the Banks commitment in ensuring the realisation of these MoUs” it said.

The release said Mr Andah noted, “the energy sector is very critical in a country’s economy and as a bank, with support from our parent Bank, BMCE, we are in talks with the major players in the sector to offer them the needed impetus to stimulate their growth and expansion.”

“The MD also cited the bank’s interest in assisting with the provision of affordable housing as a means of replacing slums with habitable abodes. He called on the President to intensify efforts to create favourable economic conditions that will see to a reduction in lending rates. He alluded to the Moroccan experience where the government partnered with the BMCE bank to undertake the social housing project, dubbed ‘Cities without Slums,’” it said.
