The Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Daniel Asiedu has pledged the Bank’s continued support to activities marking the country’s 60th Independence anniversary celebration.
Mr. Asiedu who presented a cheque for GH¢100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis) to Mr. Ken Amankwah, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee revealed that the donation was in response to calls on corporate Ghana to partner with the government in putting together a modest but grand celebration.
“We are here in response to the call of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to show our support to [email protected] In addition as an indigenous bank, we deem it a duty to participate and are ready to support initiatives aimed at making the celebration a success”.
Receiving the cheque, Mr. Amankwah revealed that although the main event marking the anniversary was held on March 6, several other activities have been lined up to commemorate the national event, including the building of commemorative libraries across all ten (10) regions and a national museum to house wax statues and other liberation artefacts.
In his response, Mr. Asiedu revealed that Management of ADB would consider any proposals to support any project aimed at protecting and preserving the independence heritage 60 years and beyond. “We cannot leave all these laudable projects in the hands of government alone. Whatever support we as an institution can render to make these projects a success, we shall offer to make these projects materialize,” Mr. Asiedu added.
As the premier development bank in the country, ADB is poised to become a top tier Bank by balancing its primary mandate of an agriculture-focused Bank with current market and customer expectations.
