Six people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in selling a two-week old baby in south-eastern Nigeria.
According to police in the country’s Cross River state, those arrested included the baby’s mother, who said extreme poverty forced to sell her child for around $90 (£60).
Local police told AccraReport.com that they have opened an investigation into the incident, further more according to correspondents from the British Broadcasting Corporation, the issue of so-called baby factories was still prevalent in the region.
